Preparing for Allergy Season: How to Stay Ahead of Sneezes and Sniffles

Author

Jason Sellers, MD

Allergy season is just around the corner, and for many, it means itchy eyes, sneezing, congestion, and fatigue. But with the right strategies, you can reduce your symptoms and stay comfortable throughout the season.

Start by identifying your triggers – common allergens include pollen, mold, dust mites, and pet dander. Keeping windows closed during high pollen days, using air purifiers, and regularly cleaning bedding and surfaces can help minimize exposure.

Over-the-counter antihistamines, nasal sprays, and eye drops are often effective at managing mild to moderate symptoms. However, if allergies significantly impact your daily life, it’s important to talk to your Radish care team. They can recommend tailored treatments or allergy testing to better understand your triggers.

In some cases, allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots or tablets) may be an option to build long-term tolerance. Early preparation and consistent management can help you enjoy spring and summer without the misery of allergies.

Remember to also take care of your overall health during allergy season – stay hydrated, get adequate rest, and maintain a balanced diet to support your immune system.

If you’re concerned about your symptoms or want to discuss prevention strategies, your Radish care team is ready to help.
